One Day At A Time |
Patsy By: Eugene Maphis As I sit here reminiscing of the years that have passed me by, and dreaming of the legends of my time I think of a little girl, Virginia Hensley, who became known as Patsy Cline. She was born in a little town of Gore, in September 1932. She made Winchester, VA, her home, and touched the hearts of all she knew. She learned to sing at an early age, and her voice grew to be pure gold. When she sang everyone listened, She entertained the young and old. There were good times and bad times, the road up was a hard grind. Then one night she finally made it, The Grand Ole Opry introduced Patsy Cline. She had one hit after another, I Fall to Pieces, After Midnight, and Sweet Dreams And her childhood dreams finally came true, She became a country music queen. Then the world was saddened, When the Lord called her to His side. The year was 1963, At the age of 30, she died. In Shenandoah Memorial Park she is laid to rest, when she came home this last time. We now hold a memorial each year in March, for this little girl we call Patsy Cline. |

A Poem By Patsy Walen I do not cry when one might die I do not mourn, for they have been re-born They walk with Thee, talk with Thee, For all eternity.... We will see all again, For they are our dear friends. Then we will walk with Thee, talk with Thee, For all eternity.... We will lose others along the way But will see Thee one day. That is why I do not cry For they are right by.... |
